Overview
The OurGrid middleware is a GPL open source project for grid computing. It enables the creation of peer-to-peer free-to-join grids.
Since its first release, in December 2004, it has been used by hundreds of users to speed up the execution of Bag-of-Tasks applications. These include parameter sweep simulations, rendering of images, optimization algorithms, and many others.
The OurGrid is a stable, free, open-source middleware that comprises an active community of users and developers. The software is written in Java, allowing any resource capable of running a Java Virtual Machine to be tapped on to the grid.
